You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension – a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You’ve just crossed over into the Twilight Zone.
These past three weeks have been quite something else. Loss of job – acquisition of speeding ticket – bike accident. Note: separate and not related to speeding ticket – details here.
Here is a thought. Life happens. If you do not risk living, you certainly risk becoming lifeless. Maybe not quite the same as death, but somewhat close. There are times when circumstances allow you to pause and consider what really is of personal value. Would it be material things? Affirmation or recognition from a certain job position? Maintaining good health?
What litmus test do you utilize as a standard to measure your self-worth? Some would say that ascertaining your self-worth is a form of pride or conceit. Yes, there may be an element of danger in succumbing to that, but only if one becomes self-absorbed. I propose that understanding your intrinsic value as a person is a fundamental requirement for not only understanding who you are as a whole, but also how you are viewed by others. Notice I said how you are viewed; not why you are viewed a certain way.
Regardless of why you are looked upon in a certain fashion by others, (family, friends, strangers), it does not change the requirement of understanding the how. If you get the how, you may then be able to effectively change the why..if necessary.
Some Encouraging Reminders
Courage is not the absence of fear. It is acting in spite of it.
~ Mark Twain
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
